YouTube Play

Awarded the Winner of YouTube Players by Pocket PC Magazine (magazine is now defunct).

youtubeplay 1.0.0.11 - YouTube & FLV Player - now works on PPC2003 - xda-developers

Download and install from your PC to your Omnia the NetCompact Framework v3.5 (install to \My Storage)

Download the YouTubePlay .CAB file and move it to \My Storage using the Windows Mobile Device Center File Management Tools

Launch the .CAB on your Omnia using File Explorer to find it and tap/click it. Install it to \My Storage

Recommend having a WiFi connection rather than phone. Find YouTube Player in Programs and launch it.

For starters, click the Drop Down box in the top left of the screen, pick from Top_Rated, Top_Favorites, Most_Viewed, etc. Click on the colored YouTube icon just to the right of the drop down box. Video thumbnails should download. Click on video thumbnail. Rotate the Omnia to landscape mode. Tap the screen to make the video go full-screen.

No noticeable pixelation. Great Sound. WOW! In spite of the fact that Verizon did not give us the T*Omnia, I am going to give the Omnia a 5-star rating in the VERDICT poll. Love it! MS needs to go beyond 65k colors and Samsung needs to give us an 800 x 480 screen!

The app is written in a mixture of .net and C so you need the .net runtime, v2 or v3.5:

The video player overlay is hacked out of TCPMP and the FLV part is based on FFMPEG.
